HazMat: Eggs Ooze Into Creek In Mercersburg (Photos)

A hazardous materials clean-up crew was called to a cracking situation in Mercersburg.

The tractor-trailer carrying eggs had some of its cargo break open and leak into the West Branch Conococheague Creek, according to the Mercersburg Area Fire Fighters and EMTs, IAFF Local 5421.

The emergency crews were called to the mess in the 9100 block of Heisey Road around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2023.

The road reopened later that day.
